**General Description**
The Quality Assurance Manager of Project leading Cell in PL Part will provide general supervision and technical guidance to the QA Staff in the analysis, design, testing, and deployment of Samsung mobile products. The QA Manager maintains ultimate responsibility for assuring that all products are defect free and compliant with technical specifications to ensure successful execution of wireless carrier approval. PL Team involves action items such as: making and coordinating the each project's schedule (entry & approval) and test plan, and reporting HQ and internal group the risk points such as blocking issues before launch or carrier entry date and perform the basic function test such as Sanity test, Manufacturing Sample test as well as requesting TL team to perform the other tests of Performance team, Compatibility team and Advanced team. The QA Manager will work directly under the Sr. QA Manager of Technical Leading team and help improve infrastructure and standard of product quality assurance.
* Set-up Project leading Cell and make relative resource plans.
* Maintains project schedule and milestones along with product approval schedule for each carrier.
* Prepare and manage all required test items to adhere with projected carrier approval schedule.
* Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple complex assignments and projects
* Communicate with internal teams (HQ Development, HQ S/W Engineering, MQL TL) to manage all issues/feedback to resolve them in a timely manner.
* Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans, implementing quality standards, identifying and resolving problems, completing audits, determining system improvements, and implementing change.
* Collaborates with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
* Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
* Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
* Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
* Ensures delivery against QA department goals and objectives, i.e. meeting commitments and coordinating overall quality assurance schedule.
**Necessary Skills / Attributes**
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
* 7-8 years of software quality assurance experience, to include a minimum of 3 years in a lead role or management position.
* Strong knowledge/experience of GSM/CDMA/ WCDMA/LTE
* Strong analytical skills and experience with implementation and administration of Mobile Software Quality Assurance metrics, such as defect profiles and performance to entry/exit criteria.
* Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication and project management skills a must.
* Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner.
* Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability.
* Strong understanding of different software development life cycles (waterfall, iterative) and contemporary software quality assurance processes and automated tools.
* Must have experience in managing and working with distributed team members.
* Knowledge of wireless telecommunication technologies such as GSM, WCDMA, LTE and their protocols and requirements.
* Must be extremely detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication. Necessary Skills/Attributes
* Developing testing framework, test cases, test checklist, test schedule, and summary report
* Coordinating work process such as planning, assigning, and monitoring all the test activities
* Managing a team to successfully deliver testing related outcome on time and with the highest quality possible
* Attending analytical discussion session with development team and quality management team
* Managerial talent and experience- to recruit, manage, mentor, and grow a Technical QA/Testing Team
* Create and Manage the Testing Framework
* Lead, Manage, and Mentoring the Testing Team Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
* Work is generally performed in an office desk.
* Requires considerable movement and transportation of equipment or samples with a high security mentality
* Performs work under time schedules which are normally periodic or cyclical and include: time sensitive job stress, fatigue, intellectual challenge, constant technical data feedback, language barriers, and product management stress.
* Highly ethical personality preferred to handle unpublished samples and equipment. (Requires not to disclose all information and knowledge to public)
* Operate a computer keyboard and view a display terminal for more than 40% of work time, including prolonged periods of time.
* Perform reliability tests by operating small model devices for more than 50% of work time.
* Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule.
* Require business trips for short terms and long terms; short terms from 1 day to 2 weeks and long terms up to more than a month.
